Have you ever thought, “I want to be healthy and fit, but it’ll take too much time?” Have you ever really wanted to lose weight, and have you tried a lot of ‘sure-fire’ methods that just don’t seem to work – or get boring after a while?
We all live busy lives, and sometimes anything close to exercise seems like an overwhelming waste of time. You can go to the gym, or spend hours picking out expensive home equipment, knowing that you’ll be spending more time away from your home or family – just to get in shape.
On top of that, magazines always offer tips on firming the flab, trimming the thighs, and toning the arms (not to mention the problematic posterior). The problem is that most of these tips are difficult to follow, too time consuming, or just boring.
Wouldn’t it be amazing if there was something different where you could actually have fun, and work your whole body, and do this in an extremely short amount of time without being away from your home and family?
You may think of yoga as just a way to relax and stretch and not a really viable exercise method, but you may be surprised to learn that the benefits of yoga go way beyond just relaxing and meditation! Maybe yoga doesn’t look all that powerful or impressive when compared to weight-lifting or jogging, but let me tell you – it is!
Why don’t many people believe this is possible? Because they don’t think that good results and fun can go together.
Most people tend to think that a health solution has to involve lots of suffering to get positive results, but that’s not true! A vast number of research studies show the incredible benefits of yoga, done three times per week, without the ‘agony and ecstasy’ that other methods offer.
In addition to this, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, conducted a separate study on the effects of yoga on weight-loss. The study surveyed 15,500 middle-aged men and women about their physical activity and weight over time, and made sure to consider all factors such as diet, health, and other forms of exercise that could cause changes in weight. This study found that the overweight individuals doing yoga for only 30 minutes per week actually lost 5 pounds, versus the overweight non-yoga participants that ended up gaining 14 pounds!
Researchers at the Exercise Psychology Laboratory at the University of Illinois performed a study testing participants with mental tests after doing 20 minutes of yoga versus 20 minutes of rigorous exercise. They were extremely surprised with the results and found that when performing only 20 minutes of yoga exercises, the reaction time and accuracy of the study participants improved considerably, but when they performed an intense exercise session – the same participants “showed no significant improvements on the working memory and inhibitory control scores.”
UCLA also performed a comprehensive eight week study and found that 12 minutes of daily yoga meditation can cut your stress in half! They discovered that daily yoga meditation was able to help reduce inflammation levels, decrease depression by 50%, and improve mental health by 50%!
After participants performed yoga exercises, they were able to process information quickly and more accurately and also learn, hold and update pieces of information more effectively than after performing an aerobic exercise session. What would that mean for you if you could not only look great, but improve your mental abilities as well?
Yoga has been proven to be extremely beneficial for cardiovascular disease, including high and low blood pressure, varicose veins, heart pain, irregular heart rate (arrhythmia), valvular problems (heart murmurs), and heart attacks.
It’s extremely shocking...
